I am proud to announce that I was a MacDowell Fellow during the 2025/2026 season. My project expanded an existing series of prints that create a visual history of New England.
Most recently, I have been researching some of the largest hurricanes over the past 200 years, including The Great New England Hurricane of 1938. Poignantly, this historic storm that I have been immersed in over the past two years devastated parts of the MacDowell, notably Star Studio. As the MacDowell website describes: “When the dense growth of trees around the building was leveled in the 1938 hurricane, the studio, originally tucked away, was left in a bare, open field. Landscaping put in place by Mrs. MacDowell has since yielded to a pine forest, once again providing a quiet sylvan setting for the writers and other artists at work inside.”
Thank you to my fellow fellows, and all of the amazing people at MacDowell for the time and space to pursue this project.
